Bolingey v Penwith

Sunday 7th April 2019

Adorned in a splendid Barbarians fitted jersey, Cowen Thomas aged 5 weeks, took his place in the arms of his father for the match photo.

This was the last home match of the season and there was a good following with St Just RFC  making up the majority of the Penwith team.

Bolingey raced into a 6 tries to 1 lead at half-time, Perry Hughes 2 (Newquay), James Instance (Falmouth), Nathan Thomas (Redruth) Diddy Duncan (Truro) and Tim Eustace (Newquay) being the Bolingey scorers. Some mixing of players took place for the second half but the black and gold jerseys produced players in rampant form and the match ended 11 tries to 5, 2 more from Perry Hughes, Tony Cook, Tate Richardson 2 (St Austell) and Mark Murray (Redruth).

At the after match celebrations St Just RFC were thanked for their very generous donation of £500 which was over and above their player’s contributions to the day.

Our final match will be to help Lankelly Fowey RFC celebrate their fiftieth year when we travel to Fowey on Sunday 05 May 2019.
