Bolingey v ‘The East’
Sunday 18th November
Bolingey Barbarians faced a combined squad from Roseland, Truro and St. Austell, all enjoying the camaraderie created in order to honour the clubs within the 6 game season.
The match was another great spectacle of flowing rugby which produced a high try count in a spirited and entertaining display of veteran rugby. The Barbarians managed to maintain the lead and held on for the victory despite continued pressure from the visitors.
All of the action was replayed in accounts of conflicting detail over a meal during the ‘third half’ at the Bolingey Inn.
The Barbarians will compete for the ‘Bolingey Bowl’ versus a combined Perranporth, St. Agnes and Newquay in the next fixture on Sunday 16th December. All invited to come along and enjoy the day, bring a Christmas jumper!
The Barbarians were proud to make a presentation to Penhaligon’s Friends before the match.
Thanks expressed by our friends as follows:-
Hannah: Surrounded by the fine gentlemen of Bolingey Barbarians (and St Austell Rugby Club) who loved their daddy as one of their own, and who have raised and given £1500 to the charity Penhaligon’s Friends. This charity was quite literally a lifesaver at times when I couldn’t help Esme make sense of her loss. I will be forever endebted to the love and support they gave to us.
Thank you Bolingey Barbarians. Esme and Henry will wear their shirts with pride
Penhaligon’s Friends: Thank you so much for your wonderful support it means so much to us at Penhaligon’s Friends, Cornish Childhood Bereavement Charity.
