Bodmin RFC – 50th Anniversary

Sunday 26th September 2021

A letter of thanks was sent to Bodmin RFC for the hospitality and generous support of Bolingey Barbarians received when we visited them to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

The day was a great success both on and off the pitch with everyone thoroughly enjoying meeting old friends and new after the enforced break from our usual activities.

And what a start to the season with a total of £2,386.70 raised for children’s charity in Cornwall.

Dear members of Bodmin RFC

The Bolingey Barbarians wish to thank you so much for all you did to make yesterday work for all.

Truly a great day with a fitting start; remembering our dear friend Ray Hunt and all things good about rugby.

Then a first-class game played in good spirt. With great talent, even if some of us are half a yard slower!

But the main part was the chance to all meet up again with old friends and new. Thanks to the people that provided the pig roast which went down well. And for the musical entertainment from the Padstow Boys.

Could you pass on our thanks to all at Bodmin RFC that made us so welcome, we are very proud to have been invited and to be part of your 50th anniversary celebrations.

The total money raised on the day was £2386.70, this will go forward and help the less fortunate children in Cornwall.

All the best to Bodmin RFC for this season and for your next 50 years.

Cheers Roger

Roger Mead BEM
